Some Photographs of Sunset Nature Preserves

This is what the property looked like over 30 years ago when first purchased.
Here is a picture of the floating deck. The pond is spring fed with cold water. Not good for swimming. No sitgnificant fish, mostly goldfish, carp and minnows.
A winter view of one of the overflow areas about 100 feet from the campsite.
A picture of our older campsite in the woods. The cabin is still there even after the tornado took the roof off.
Here is an early picture of the 'Vine Covered Pool' This picture does not show any grape vines growing yet.
No matter how many bird houses we put up, they all seem to get used more than once each year.
The pond is full of many turtles. You can often see them along the banks suning themselves in early Spring as they try to dry out their shells.
Here is a picture of some of the campsite as well as the Vine Covered Pool. In this picture one can already see some of the grap vines growing over the pool.
Here is a winter picture of the pond.
This is a picture of the gravel morain on River Terrace SNA.
Here is another good look and the floating deck.
